Golden Rescue will once again be at Kempenfest and this year it’s the 40th Celebration of this event.  This is a huge event filled with many interesting vendors and full of unique arts and crafts.  Golden Rescue has been lucky enough to be a part of this wonderful event, helping to spread awareness of our organization throughout the northern region.  People came from far and wide to attend this event so if you are in the area please be sure to stop by our booth where you will be greeted with smiles from rescued Goldens and information volunteers that are dedicated to our organization.

For more information about this event and directions please visit their website at http://www.kempenfest.com/

If you would like to volunteer for this event, please contact our volunteer coordinator at volunteer@golden-rescue.net.

Book NOW, Pay LATER…

None of us want to wish the summer away; however, Golden Rescue’s golf committee is asking for your help by booking now for our September 13th tournament (see details below). You will have a great day on the course or in the spa with great food in beautiful surroundings. In addition to playing on one of the most scenic courses in Southern Ontario, your day will be filled with meeting Goldens as well as fun and unique holes (including TWO hole-in-one contests ~ one for a new car, the other for $25,000).

By booking now, you will help us achieve our target ~ a sold-out tournament. Contact us at golf@golden-rescue.net to BOOK and arrange payment via credit card (to be processed in mid-August) or post-dated cheque.

If you are unable to golf, why not become a sponsor for $250+ or donate a gift to the raffle or silent auction.

More and more Goldens are coming into our program. YOU can make a huge difference in giving a Golden a second chance. Please book now!

Adoption Alert ~ #1328 & #1329

******ADOPTED******

These sweet Goldens have been together all of their lives, so are looking for a forever home together.  Other then their greying muzzles, one would never know that these little girls are eight and nine years old.  They are very gentle and loving and absolutely enjoy their walks and their playtime out in the garden.  They are so happy to receive any attention and are content to just lay by your feet (or together on the couch) and hang out with you.

Both girls get along well with other dogs, cats and people of all ages.  These Goldens would fit into any situation really, but their ideal home would be with someone who is home quite often and who could give them the attention they so deserve.

These girls are currently being fostered in the Durham Region area, just east of the GTA.  If you would like more information about them, please call our hot-line at 416.657.2445 or toll free at 1.866.712.8444 and one of our volunteers will be happy to return your call.

Lost Golden Retriever – “Balu” – Sandy Hill area of Ottawa, ON

Our dog Balu, a white-coloured golden retriever, was frightened by the earthquake that happened last month here in Ottawa. When we came home from work that night we discovered that he had burst through the front screen window. Though we have been searching for him tirelessly we haven’t seen a sign of him. He is micro-chipped and registered with the Canadian Kennel Club and we have filed reports with the city to find out if he did show up injured, but so far all we know that he is at least alive and well somewhere.

We are offering a thousand dollar reward for information leading to his return, or conversely, if someone wanted to offer information but remain anonymous they could post a comment on ottawadogblog.ca in Balu’s post.

Balu is all-white, with curly hair on his tail, around 65 pounds, and very friendly. We miss him terribly and want nothing more then his safe return. No hard feelings to whoever has been taking care of him. We know he is easy to love.
