Adoption
How Do We Adopt a Rescued Golden?
The Adoption Process:
Our rescue dogs are very special to us. As volunteers working for the welfare of our breed, our best reward is to see rescued Goldens placed with wonderful new guardians who will give them a safe, happy, and loving home. To be considered as an adopting guardian you must be willing to:
- return the dog to Golden Rescue if for any reason you can no longer keep it
- keep the rescue dog solely as a companion and household pet
- keep the Golden in good health and give it good care. This includes providing all necessary and preventative veterinary treatment as established by Golden Rescue. Proper care of a dog includes ensuring that it always has fresh water, quality feed, appropriate sleeping quarters, proper grooming, exercise, and attention.
- have available a securely fenced yard or appropriate dog run. Tying dogs outside to a post or clothesline or promising to always accompany your dog are not acceptable substitutes.
