Available Adoptions

At the present time our Goldens are being fostered in Ontario and occasionally in Quebec. During the adoption process a home visit needs to be arranged with your family and you must agree to come and visit the dog at his/her foster home. If the match is a good one, you'll need to arrange appropriate transportation to bring the dog home with you.

Please note:
We do not post all of our dogs on the website. Please fill out an adoption application as our placement team volunteers match dogs to families, based on the information on the application form.

Adoption Alert ~ Winston #1582 – Adoption Pending

My name is Winston and I am three and a half years old and "lovable" is my middle name!  I am gentle, easy-going, calm and polite.  I am good with cats (I quite like them actually) and I get along well with other dogs but am specifically looking for a calm canine companion and not one that will be demanding long play sessions.  Although I am only three and a half years old, I am not the energetic type.  Just call me 'Mr. Mellow', as I am more than happy to hang out with my humans in a calm enviroment and I won't even demand attention,  but if you are looking to give and receive love, I am definitely your man!

I do enjoy my walks however shorter walks are more suitable to me than long hikes.  I do have some medical issues that requires me to take daily medication and I eat a special diet but don't let that get in the way of considering me as your furkid as you will be missing out on a great dog……if I don't say so myself!

Winston is currently being fostered in the London area. If you would like more information about Winston please call our hot-line at 416.657.2445 or toll free at 1.866.712.8444 and one of our volunteers will be happy to return your call.

Adoption Alert ~ Bailey #1633

Hi…I’m Bailey and the most important fact about me is that I’m EXTREMELY active and I’ve been told I’m super smart.  I need lots of exercise so access to the great outdoors where I can chase or be chased, would be great!  I’m a year-and-a-half and I walk beautifully on leash and respond well to commands.  My main need is stimulation and exercise but I also like to be cuddled.  A country setting and playful buddies…I would love all those things!  (as I get along with ALL dogs).  Once I get to know you, I can walk off-leash, which allows me to burn off even more energy.  Everyone says I’m a joy to have around but I’m no couch-potato so I need an active family.  Even though I look really sweet, I have some resource guarding issues and have bitten…so it’s ultra important that I have experienced owners who will give me a chance and play a strong ‘alpha’ role.  I’m cautious around strangers; however, if people allow me to approach and sniff, I get comfortable quickly.  My perfect home has no children, an active dog(s), and lots of activities like hiking, snowshoeing, running, etc.

Bailey is currently being fostered in the Aurora area. If you would like more information about Bailey please call our hot-line at 416.657.2445 or toll free at 1.866.712.8444 and one of our volunteers will be happy to return your call.

Adoption Alert ~ Bailey #1653

I’m a fantastically sweet nine-year old boy with lots of energy…sometimes I forget that I’m nine!  I love everyone and want everyone to love me, love me, love me!  I get along well with all the other pets in my foster home including dogs and cats and I absolutely adore their chinchilla rabbit and bearded dragon.  I can sit and watch birds for hours…everything fascinates me to no end! I need an experienced dog owner though as, given the chance, I would run off leash with no regard for recall, so I obviously need some training. I can be a bit skittish with sudden noises or movements but I settle down quickly and easily. My foster mom says that I have a food bowl protection issue too ~ you can take my treats or toys, but if you go near my bowl I often growl. I’m getting better, but this side of my personality means it might be better that I go to a family without children. Regardless of my idiosyncrasies, I’m a loveable boy and I need you to give me my second chance!

Adoption Alert ~ Jesse #1672

I’m Jesse and I’m a goofy four-and-a-half-year-old.  I’m a happy, happy boy and I love all humans and dogs (I even like cats although sometimes I want to chase them).  I really like dogs who like to play as I have tons of energy and playing is something I’m really good at (and it’s fun, fun, fun)!  When I’m not playing, I want to be loved and cuddled and I’m really good at that too.  I’m good at counter surfing but I don’t think my foster dad is particularly fond of that, especially when I eat the freshly baked cookies (LOL) that I think were meant for him.  My epilepsy is completely controlled by medication and low stress so I think it would be best if someone were home most of the day.  As I need lots of exercise, a canine playmate would be gr-r-r-reat (as I’m so into having fun).  Everyone who meets me thinks I have a sweet, happy face with a matching personality.  All I need now in my happy life is a happy forever family.

Adoption Alert ~ Tanyr #1687

Guess what?  I’m turning 10 in July and it sure would be great to celebrate this momentous occasion in my forever home (you’d think I would have found that by now!).  I’m a relaxed, easy-going boy but a little timid with new people…but if you give me a chance, I come around (that’s because I’m starting to realize that socializing often means I get attention and petting).  I promise to be good ~ I’m no trouble at all.  I walk nicely on leash and I don’t bark much or chase anything.  I don’t quite have the vim and vigour I used to have so a few short walks or play sessions a day is all I need.  I do have arthritis (and it’s getting better with the medication I’m taking) so I can’t navigate stairs.  I’d be best in a quiet, adult-only household and if you promise to feed, walk, and love me, I promise to be a loyal and loving companion.  A birthday cake though would be nice!

Adoption Alert ~ Shelby #1693

Hi, I’m Shelby and I’m just waiting to shine…I just need a forever family!  I think I’m a pretty sweet almost-three-year-old, but my nervous and timid side gets in the way sometimes.  It takes me time to trust but I promise that if you give me love and patience, I’ll be the best family member you could ever ask for.  I’m generally quiet and I just want to be in the same room as you…any extra attention and petting is simply a bonus.  Judging by my foster sister, who I love playing with, it’s obvious that I haven’t had much training on anything but I’m smart so my progress is great.  I’ve barely been socialized with other dogs so I’ll probably do well with an easy-going dog (but beware…I have some guarding issues…but no aggression, so don’t worry).  I could be called ‘snoop dog’ (but that name has been taken) because I want to know everything that’s going on so I’m a bit of a control freak.  I’d be best in an adult home (I respond better to women) where someone is home more often than not, where my training would continue.  Another easy-going dog might be nice who will ignore my antics.  I’m still a youngster so I need lots of exercise and play sessions.  I’m a bit nervous of loud noises, cars, and trucks so a calm, rural setting might be best for me.  Can you imagine me standing on your porch?  I can…

Adoption Alert ~ Calli #1697 – ADOPTED

My name is Calli.  I’m a seven-year-old girl and my foster family says I’m very loveable but a bit insecure.  I love my food and my toys and haven’t learned to share yet but I’m working on that.  I’m very happy and greet everyone with a wag of the tail especially when I’m out on my walks.  I walk very well on that leash contraption, if I do say so myself.  I like being in charge at home and they say I’m a bit of an alpha dog…whatever that means.  I have a little problem with my hypothyroid but it’s in check, but I sure don’t like thunder and loud noises. Scaaaarey!!!!  I like following my foster mom around wherever she goes and I’m probably best in an adult only environment with no other dogs ‘til I learn that sharing thing.  Isn’t there a saying, “to share is human”?  But I’m a dog for heaven’s sake!

Calli is currently being fostered in the Brooklin, north of Whitby, ON. If you would like more information about Calli please call our hot-line at 416.657.2445 or toll free at 1.866.712.8444 and one of our volunteers will be happy to return your call.

Adoption Alert ~ Sheila #1704 – Adoption Pending

Hi…I’m Sheila and I’m a seven-month-old mischievous vixen and I simply love all the attention I can possibly get.  I like to be close by ~ whether that’s at your feet or on the couch beside you.  I love lots of activity so I need a lively family that can take me for long walks and play with me in the yard.  I love to exercise with my human and canine friends alike!  I’m told that I need more training…I guess I’m not supposed to counter-surf, jump up on people or snatch my treats too quickly…but I am still a puppy and have a lot to learn!  I also tend to chew a lot of the wrong things so you’ll have to teach me what I can and cannot chew!  And bonus…I’m house-trained for the most part (but I have the occasional piddle if I am being reprimanded).

Sheila is currently being fostered in the Niargara Region.  If you would like more information about Sheila please call our hot-line at 416.657.2445 or toll free at 1.866.712.8444 and one of our volunteers will be happy to return your call.

Adoption Alert ~ Perry #1706 – ADOPTED

I’m Perry and I’m a happy, happy boy to be getting a second chance.  I was a stray and now I’m safe and sound!  I’m around four-and-a-half years old and I love to meet people and there’s no such thing as too much petting and attention and more petting.  I live well with my canine companions and am learning to have fun playing.  I have a wee bit of separation anxiety but I think that’s because I haven’t had a home.  With lots of love and reassurance, I’m getting better and settling in nicely.  I need lots of exercise as my hind muscles were a little weak (I have minor hip dysplasia…whatever than means) but I’m getting stronger all the time.  Just watch me chase a ball or jump into the car…no problem at all (I love riding in cars).  I’m a gentle soul (except when I’m on a leash…I tend to pull).  If you adopt me, I promise to be a good and loving boy…just look at my face ~ I won’t be anything but sweetness (except when I counter surf)!!!

Perry is currently being fostered in the Tottenham area. If you would like more information about Perry please call our hot-line at 416.657.2445 or toll free at 1.866.712.8444 and one of our volunteers will be happy to return your call.

Adoption Alert ~ Marley #1709 – ADOPTED

I’m two-year-old Marley and don’t I look like a simply loveable boy???  That’s because I am!  That look on my face is what my foster parents love the most ~ they say I have wonderful eye contact.  I’m a typical Golden in that I love attention and being petted.  I’m also really gentle with my treats and toys.  I’m looking for a home where you’ll give me a chance to shine because I’m really anxious to please.  My personality is generally submissive and timid and I’m unsure of myself when meeting strange dogs…yet I absolutely love my foster fur-sister.  My guess is I need repeated training to learn all the right rules of engagement.  I’m looking for a home where I’ll get strong leadership and lots of exercise.  With you as my alpha, I know I’ll improve walking on a leash and meeting strange dogs.  I’m okay as the only dog in the family but I’d really like my fur-sister to come with me (and that’s not likely to happen) so if you have a play mate for me, that would be fantastic!

Marley is currently being fostered in the Richmond Hill area. If you would like more information about Marley please call our hot-line at 416.657.2445 or toll free at 1.866.712.8444 and one of our volunteers will be happy to return your call.

Adoption Alert ~ Molson #1710 – Adoption Pending

Hi ~ I’m Golden Molson (not Molson Golden yuk-yuk).  I’m also a retriever but the dog ate that page because I don’t retrieve.  I don’t retrieve balls or sticks and my foster dad says retrieving is a one-way trip (yuk, yuk).  I’m around five years old (not quite sure though) and I’m totally mellow, gentle (with treats and toys also), laid back, and loveable ~ how good is that?  I love nothing better than being brushed and petted.  As a matter of fact, as soon as I see the brush come out, I lie on my back ~ oh-la-la.  I love the car and would prefer to drive so I just co-pilot.  My foster parents say that I have a beautiful face and a loving disposition.  I’m a little shy though but I warm up to people of all ages in minutes.  I need to lose a little weight and I get one long walk a day but more would be better.  I have good manners except I’m told I snore.  I don’t believe it…but apparently I’m pretty loud, so I hope you’re a sound sleeper because I would love to sleep on the bed with you.  I’m probably happiest as the only dog but I’m okay with another dog as long as they’re laid back like me and they don’t bug me too much or try to get at my food.  Pick me…pick me, ple-e-e-s-e!

Molson is currently being fostered in the Barry's Bay area. If you would like more information about Molson please call our hot-line at 416.657.2445 or toll free at 1.866.712.8444 and one of our volunteers will be happy to return your call.
